Macmillan's Power of 3 Challenge

Power of 3 Challenge · 8 June 2020
Everyone Active is going green in aid of our charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support, from Monday 8 June 2020. Please help us make this an epic Macmillan takeover as they need our support now more than ever!
We're running a Power of 3 challenge throughout the week where you can get involved in a couple of different activities - encourage as many people as possible to join 3 classes, nominate 3 friends to join in and donate £3 to Macmillan. Or take on our 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball' challenge to see how many keepie-uppies you can do in 60 seconds using any golf club and golf ball - give yourself the best of 3 attempts for this (and film yourself), nominate 3 more people to take on the challenge and donate £3 to Macmillan (suggested donation). It couldn't be simpler!
Macmillan is the UK’s leading cancer supporter charity giving personal, one to one care and support to thousands of people every day. Cancer can affect anyone and receiving a cancer diagnosis can turn life upside down in a single moment. Macmillan nurses, doctors and cancer experts help people make sense of their diagnosis, guide them through treatment and provide help and support on every aspect of life including physical, emotional and financial. While cancer is not always life threatening, it’s almost always life changing, and having the right support can have a huge impact on a person’s physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as significantly improve a patient’s recovery.
Every 5 minutes, over 3 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. * Just £3 could pay for 5 copies of Macmillan’s ‘Emotional effects of cancer’ booklet. This is one of their most popular resources, offering advice and information on sources of support to people affected by
cancer, who may experience a wide range of emotions including fear, loneliness, and anger.
Let’s join forces during these uncertain times to raise a target of £1,000. This would be enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for over 34 hours, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Thank you for playing your part in helping us support Macmillan.
*Analysis based on the figure of 366,303 diagnoses of cancer in 2017 in the UK, obtained through data published by the national cancer registries.
