Story

Hello! We're TEAM V3NTURE, a trio of British Army soldiers attempting to be the first serving military trio to row any ocean. The team comprises of Rob Cross (Welsh Guards), Charlie Newman (Royal Artillery) and Rob Treasure (The Rifles).

The 'World's Toughest Row' is an international event regarded as the world’s most demanding ocean rowing race. It is a non-stop 3000-mile voyage from the Canary Islands to Antigua in a 9m rowing boat, unsupported, over approximately 35 days.

"What's your motivation for rowing the Atlantic?"

Our goals are threefold:

1. To be competitive in our row across the Atlantic.
2. To be the first military trio to row any ocean.
3. To raise as much money for charity as possible.

Rob's Dad, Stephen Treasure, passed away after a battle with cancer last year. Macmillan Cancer Support is a huge source of help and comfort to thousands of cancer sufferers. We hope to aid Macmillan in their determination to continually improve the experience of cancer for its patients. Macmillan will receive 70% of all funds raised.

We are delighted to say that the funds raised for Macmillan are specifically going to support Macmillan nurses, whose palliative care for Stephen made a profound impact on Rob.

We are also very proud of the units in which we serve. 30% will be donated to our three regimental charities. Our target is £200,000 and we would be hugely grateful for your help in getting there.

Whilst the funds from this page will go to Macmillan, the funds raised from the sale of our boat (approx. £80,000) will be used to maintain the 70/30 split.

Our shared love of ventures has led us to the pinnacle of ocean rowing. This will be the ultimate mental and physical test for us.
