I have recently been touched by the wide ripple effect Alzheimer's can have. Having learned that my grandma has this type of dementia it has taken a toll on on me as I have watched my dad struggle to help her. It has of course then been hard on him, and more than anyone my grandma has been hit. She's a shadow of her former self, and seeing how this has sent everyone reeling has hit me even harder how important this research is.
