I needed another goal. So I set myself a silly one - run a half marathon after just two months of training.

It helps that I really believe in Refugee Action's work. Through my job at NGO Waging Peace (http://wagingpeace.info/) and its sister charity Article 1 (http://www.article1.org/), I come into contact with hundreds of asylum seekers from Sudan. Many are destitute due to obstructive Home Office policy and procedure. Refugee Action's destitution fund helps fill the gaps in state provision, giving someone a hot meal, or finding them a roof over their head for the night.
