Story
I (Lisa, Madeline’s Mum) recently volunteered at Demelza House to help with fundraising events. However, due to Covid-19 all fundraising events have been cancelled, which is a huge blow to Demelza. Madeline heard me talking about Demelza and said she wanted to do something to help. So, everyday whilst we are in lockdown she will either walk, run, skip, scoot or cycle a mile.
I think it’s so amazing that during these unprecedented times she wants to do something for other children. I’m incredibly proud of her.
I know people are struggling at the moment, but please, even if it’s just a £1, please sponsor her.
Below is more information about how vital Demelza House is. It’s costs approximately £10.5 million a year to fund Demelza and is mostly self-funded.
Bringing up children and raising a healthy, happy family is hard work at the best of times. When a child is born with or develops a terminal condition, the emotional and physical impact affects the whole family and can be overwhelming.
At Demelza, we focus on supporting each child, young person and family we work with to achieve the best possible life. As specialists in care for young people and family support, we will continue to use our outstanding knowledge, experience and expertise to help families enjoy their lives together.
