Made for More is fundraising for Tearfund's life-saving work in helping people to continue to lift themselves out of poverty.
The coronavirus has rocked many people's lives all across the world with an uncertain future. We have all experienced the impacts of coronavirus one way or another but for the poorest places, this impact is worse than we ever can imagine.
Families who have fled their homes due to war or their country is on the brink of famine, lockdown means not earning enough income to provide for families. Families are living in basic conditions around the world with no access to clean water or basic hygiene to properly wash their hands. In war-torn countries such as South Sudan, hospital equipment is scarce with only have 4 ventilators for a population of 11million people.
For the UK the coronavirus had forced us into lockdown however for countries like South Sudan, Yemen and Syria the coronavirus is another weight for countries who are struggling in poverty. Families who have fled their homes due to war or their countries are on the brink of famine lockdown means not providing enough food for families and loss of income.
