Story

Made in the Midlands will be hosting our charity wheelbarrow raffle in association with Threeway Pressings at our Christmas drinks celebration on Thursday 8th December at Hotel Du Vin, Birmingham.

Last year, Threeway Pressings conceptualised the idea of creating a festive wheelbarrow full of alcohol in support of various charities. With the support of members, we raised over £600 for Save the Children, Macmillan Cancer and Make-A-Wish Foundation in conjunction with ITV’s Text Santa.

Threeway Pressings specialise in the design and manufacture of precision pressings in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Their aim is to meet the niche market for small scale, high volume press work with a capacity from 1.5 tonnes to 250 tonnes, especially for automotive and domestic OEM’s. Threeway have a real edge in short lead times and fast turn-round, with a reliable, quality service which emphasises presentation and performance throughout.

Threeway Pressings Managing Director, Phil Stanley stated: “We do a lot of work with cancer charities throughout the year and it would be brilliant to see Made in the Midlands members get involved with the Christmas raffle. It would be a great way to end the year, by having a bit of fun with other members whilst raising money for Save the Children.”

All of the donations we receive at the Christmas drinks will be uploaded on JustGiving. The winner of this year’s Christmas raffle will be revealed on Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day which takes place on Friday 16th December.

On the @madeinthemids Twitter account, we will still be running a Christmas Jumper Day photo celebration. Last year, we crowned the winner of the wheelbarrow as RAPRA through our choice of the funnest team photo on social media. However, we feel that conducting a raffle will eliminate any preference and give all of our members a viable option of getting involved and potentially winning this year.

Each raffle ticket will cost £5 at the event and all of the proceeds will be donated to charity. There is no limit on the amount of raffle tickets you can purchase.

Save the Children believes that every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.

By supporting our fundraising, you are helping to give children a brighter future. Thank you!
