Story
Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
This September I’m taking on the Great North Run for a charity called Muscular Dystrophy UK. I haven’t ran properly in around 15 years, so taking on a half marathon is going to be a huge challenge for me!
Although I have no direct link to the charity through having a family member or friend who lives with a muscle-wasting condition – I was inspired to sign up when I saw an ad in the metro newspaper which explained how the charity is supporting those affected by muscular dystrophy. This is my chance to give back to those who are less fortunate than I am.
Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) is the charity for the 70,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. MDUK, bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions.
We use our muscles every day to do simple tasks such as running, walking, eating, breathing, even smiling… unfortunately, these small luxuries are slowly being taken away from many people living with muscular dystrophy and MDUK are doing all they can to fund research into treatment and cures and ensuring that those living with muscular dystrophy get the support they need to live well.
I would be grateful for all donations, no matter how big or small! Join me and help make a difference to people’s lives!
Thank you, Madeleine. :)
