Madeleine Morrison is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young
In memory of Freya Cox
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

At the end of 2017 the wonderful Freya Cox tragically passed away due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Arriving in Frankfurt in September at the beginning of my Year Abroad, feeling in need of a goal of some description I told my parents I was thinking about signing myself up for my first half marathon.  My dad, John, having just completed his own first half marathon, eagerly told me he would join me in my challenge and that he was already looking at flights out to Germany, leaving me little option of chickening out...

Barely a day goes by when Freya isn't bright and lively in my thoughts.  Her vivacity and 'carpe diem' legacy continues to inspire me and many others all over the world and it is our utter privilege to run in memory of Freya and to honour her golden smile in another corner of the world.

All money raised goes to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and will help fund the charity's fantastic work towards preventing deaths like Freya's.  Thank you for your support.
