On the 11th of April this year I lost one of my very best friends, Joe Jordan to a very rare form of cancer called Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST).

No one saw it coming and I think some of us are still trying to grasp what happened to our amazing 32 year old friend and partner.

I first Joe met when I moved to London at the age of 19. Since then we've had some absolute amazing times together. He was sweet enough to celebrate Christmas with me when I couldn't go home and didn't hesitate in joining me to Italy when I wanted to go abroad for my birthday. He had a heart of gold and I will always cherish our times together.

His girlfriend Lucy wanted to run a half marathon in his honor and to raise money towards GIST research so I offered to join. Now me, Lucy, David, Marnie and Sam are all training hard to make it past the finish line in September.
