Story
"We are seeking as much fundraising as possible for a group of keen and aspiring local "celebrities' as they turn into dancers. Ten weeks training culminates in a performance in front of a live audience at Crewe Hall on Saturday 24th March - Strictly Learn to Dance for St Luke's Hospice.
All couples involved are dedicated to raising sponsorship ahead of the competition and as well judging the competition we'd love to put some in the pot towards the grand total too...
This year our Strictly Judging panel are...
HEAD JUDGE Madeline Brennan
UKA professional, previously a regular regional finalist and national competitor. Former World Ballroom Championship Semi Finalist.
Chris Braddon
"Retired" Line Dance teacher but occasionally still "Cedilidh Calling" at a local folk dance group. Social Ballroom dancer and supporter of Charity dances whenever he can.
Darren Jobson
Former Strictly Learn to Dance contestant in 2015 for St. Luke's Hospice and was a judge for us in 2016.
(also joining the panel on the night will be Rachel Brandreth from dancebespoke.)
Thank you to everyone who is lending their time, skills and support to make this the best Strictly event EVER!
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year they supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on their ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. St Luke's are a charity and provide all of their care for free, so they rely on the generosity and commitment of their supporters to raise more than 80% of their costs.
