I have been involved in horses since I was six years old. I started out riding and competing at a high level with extremely expensive horses who were treated with the utmost care, always receiving everything they needed. As I grew up my interests in horses began to change. I slowly started pick up other riding disciplines and was surrounded by horses who were purchased locally or at auction, where they were worth much less money than the show horses I knew so well. I learned that the price tag on a horse did not determine their worth as every horse has something to offer or teach. 

I am the assistant barn manager at the MSSPA, the horse rescue that this campaign is for. All of these horses have come to the shelter from neglectful or abusive homes and are given a second chance at life with our help. The horses that I see and care for day in and day out, deserve the utmost care as the show horses did when I was growing up. This kind of care includes providing them with the necessities of food, medications, and veterinary/farrier services. Horses who are well taken care of are already expensive, but imagine how much more expensive a horse in need might be? By supporting my ride-to-rescue, you are directly helping better these horses' lives. Once the horses are rehabilitated back to good health, they are provided with great training/tools to help them find their forever homes where they can truly blossom. It is an incredible feeling to be a part of such a transformative process from start to finish and see these horses personalities really shine through.
