Story

Over the last 12 months that we have all been amazed at the strength of human spirit by the remarkable lengths that people have gone to, to help others. One of these wonderful people was the amazing Captain Tom Moore, who we are sure inspired you all.

After his sad passing the children of Maes y Mynydd wanted to do something in his honour to raise money for a charity that is close to many of our hearts, Nightingale House. After many brilliant ideas we have decided to complete the ‘Year 5 and 6 Captain Tom 4x100 Mile Relay Challenge.’ This will involve each of the 4 classes walking 100 miles in honour of the late Sir Captain Tom Moore. Once one class has completed their combined 100 miles, they will pass the baton to the next class to complete their 100 miles. Meaning after 4 days an amazing 400 miles will have been walked.

Please give generously to support this worthy charity which has helped many people in our community.

Thank you,

All the pupils and staff of years 5 and 6 at Maes y Mynydd.
