Addiction Family Support was established by Elizabeth Burton-Phillips who lost one of her twin sons, Nick, to heroin. Open to anyone who is affected or bereaved by a loved one's harmful use of alcohol, drugs or gambling. Our helpline 0300 888 3853 gives more information about our services.

Story

When we lost our son, George, to an accidental heroin overdose, DrugFAM understood and supported us in our grief.

Supported by Robin, Maggie is going to walk the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path, a National Trail, hoping to raise awareness of DrugFAM and support their work.

DrugFAM was set up by Elizabeth Burton-Phillips after she lost one of her twin sons to heroin to provide support to others who had been bereaved through substance misuse.  Losing someone in this manner is particularly difficult due to the complex mixture of emotions it brings up, including; guilt, shame and anger, all of which makes specialised support essential to help with the grieving process.

If you would like to help DrugFAM's work or are looking for support please go to www.drugfam.co.uk or call the helpline on 0300 888 3853, which is available between 9am and 9pm seven days a week.
