Mailu's Run 100K in March

As most of you are aware, my lovely mum has been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 endometrial cancer. This has been a very quick and incredibly horrible experience for my mum and my family. During this time we have had a lot of worry, stress and emotions with trying to keep up with medications, GPs, consultants, mixed information, oncology appointments and tons of medical jargon we don't understand. We felt like we were drowning in information and struggled to get support, we were left alone and this led to my mum's third admission to the hospital due to frequent haemorrhages that required multiple blood transfusions. We reached out to Macmillian and they have been incredible, they have supported my mum with everything including private nurses that are accessible 24/7 as well as emotional support to help understand this terrible diagnosis and potential treatment options. We are very grateful for this charity as they have provided a lot of reassurance and stability to our family.
The main reason for this campaign is to spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of endometrial cancer. In females in the UK, endometrial cancer is the 14th most common cancer, with around 3,200 new cases every year (2016-2018). It is vital that endometrial cancer, along with most other cancers, are spotted early so that treatment can be most effective. I want to raise awareness and inform women that postmenopausal vaginal bleeding is a massive indicator that something may be going wrong in the cervix. Please Please Please action any bleeding, you know your body best and if something doesn't feel right trust your gut. It's better to be safe. Please, Please, Please do not ignore any signs as it could determine your treatment options:( If you are concerned please consult your GP!
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. My family appreciate you and your generosity <3
