Story
Hey and thanks a lot for visiting my fundraising page.
I am runnning the BUPA London 10,000 on the 26th May to raise money for Amnesty International. I may not finish the fastest having been out of competitive running for a while, but I can guarantee that I will give it all the guts and sweat I can muster!
The specific cause I have chosen to raise money for this time, is the worrying case of a 19 year old law student, Claudina Velásquez from Guatamala, who was murdered in 2005. Amnesty International is deeply concerned that Claudina Velásquez’s killers may not be brought to justice because of a seriously flawed investigation into her murder. Aside from this, families of murdered women in guatemala often meet indifference and discrimination when they seek help from the authorities, and a worrying tendency to blame the victim’s behaviour or background for her death.
So please sponsor me now and know that all money raised will go directly towards this case.
Many thanks for your support!

Along with donating on this page, you can also write to the government in Guatamala calling for action. To do this see:
http://www.amnesty.org.uk/actions_details.asp?ActionID=363
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
