Story
Last February, my mum passed away from secondary breast cancer, and my grandmother 6 months after, of the same disease. Needless to say, the past couple of years have been hard for my family, but we have had tremendous support from friends, family, workers in the NHS, and various charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, who I will be raising money for by running the EMF half-marathon in May.
Choosing a charity to raise money for is hard because so many are so worthy of support. But I have chosen Macmillan because of the fantastic support Macmillan provide for those living with cancer and their families, at all stages of the disease.
One particular service provided by Macmillan that benefited our family greatly was the Cornhill Macmillan Centre in Perth, which provides both day and palliative care to those suffering from cancer. My grandmother spent her last few weeks here, in a calm and beautiful setting, looked after by excellent and caring staff. We could not have been more grateful for their support and this wonderful facility.
For Macmillan to continue their work, and hopefully open more centres like Cornhill, they need to raise money. That's where you come in. Every penny counts, so please give what you can.
Thank you for your support
