On July 2nd, I am riding the Essex Castle 50 mile bike ride. I am raising money to create a 'memory wall' at Colchester Hospital, to benefit patients who have dementia. Around 1 in 4 beds on acute hospital wards are occupied by patients with dementia. This wall will provide a space where people can walk, but also stop and reminisce - the pictures may invoke memories and start conversations about what the images mean to them.

We've already identified some pictures of Colchester from around the 1950's, but if you have a good quality local picture from around this era - please contact me at maisey.dear@gmail.com. 

Although I ride my bike to work, I have not ridden further than about 5 miles - until last week when I started training for this 50 mile ride! So wish me luck ;)
