Rat Race Dirty Weekender · 10 May 2014

The UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust exists to support the work of the UCL Cancer Institute. We aim to improve the quality of life and survival of those with cancer, and to develop a generation of new, more effective targeted and individualised treatments.

Story

Hello to friends, family and colleagues.

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. Jonathan, Edward, Harry and I are running the rat race dirty weekender with a large group of very supportive friends on the 10th of May and in return we are asking for donations large or small to raise money for Chordoma UK.

What is Chordoma and why are we supporting the charity?

Chordoma is a rare primary bone cancer that can occur in people of all ages. A type of Sarcoma, Chordoma is generally slow growing and tends to recur after treatment. The average survival rate is 10 years after diagnosis. Most of you know this is the type of cancer our father was diagnosed with.

There has been little funding in to the research into this relentless bone cancer, primarily because it is so rare. We aim to raise awareness and support the research into Chordoma in hope of developing treatments for future sufferers.

To find out more about the charity please take a look at the website www.chordoma-uk.org

 What is Rat Race?

We will be running the 13 mile race that has 150 obstacles over 15 zones. It takes place at Burghley house, anyone who is in the area we would love your support!
