Major Mick's Tintanic 100 mile Challenge · 17 September 2020

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends. We rely on the generous support of our community to raise the £10million we need each year to fund our services.

Story

I am a retired army major having served in the British Army (The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards) for 35 years.  To celebrate my birthday  (I am 80 years old this month) I have built a rowing boat (named Tintanic) which I constructed from two sheets of corrugated Iron during lockdown.  I will be rowing my boat down the Chichester canal from Hunston to Chichester Basin, and return, twice a week till I have completed 100 miles. (Return distance is 3 miles).  The first trip down the canal will be on Saturday 26th September 2020 leaving at 11am.
I will leave Hunston every Saturday and Wednesday  at 11am and return from Chichester Basin leaving at 1215 to complete a total distance of 100 miles.
I wish to complete this venture in aid of our local St Wilfrids Hospice in Bosham that has done such wonderful work over the years in our community.  They are desperately in need of funds and my hope is that I can raise £1,000 for this very special place that has served  and continues to serve us all in the Chichester Area.
