We will pioneer a new route for the Rickshaw run in the Indian Himalayas.

• The Adventurists are fighting to make the world less boring. They create "adventures where you don’t know what will happen tomorrow or if you’ll even make it."
• EUR500 of our sign-up fee goes immediately into a fund to convert a petrol Rickshaw into and electric Rickshaw and train locals on how to repair them.

• They also partnered up with "CoolEarth" to protect and save all rainforests in the world.

• The Rickshaw Run: Starting and finishing in the Kingdom of Sikkim, just 30 teams will venture into the Himalayas, endless remote dirt tracks, thick jungles and the basically endless mountains of the Eastern Highlands. 

• The details: There’s no set route, no back-up and no way of knowing if you’re going to make it. The only certainty is that we will get lost, we will get stuck and we will break down.

• Pioneer Edition: This rare edition is a very particular sort of adventure. The idea is to test a new "un-route" before it gets released to the public. To wobble into the unknown and explore whether or not this is even possible.
  
  

The Team

• Peter "The Brain" Hasenhuetl - Postdoc Research Scientist at the University of Oxford. Peter will do some field research during our trip and will guide us through the intercultural landscape.

• Dominik "The Penny President" Winkelbauer  - CFO at an Austrian company. Dominik will closely manage our budget and leads the negotiations in the Himalayas whenever our Rickshaw breaks down and needs repairs.

• Clemens "The Racoon" Froelich - Clemens will try to keep the team working together well during this adventure and organizes the logistics in the background. (I was also the one who made the others signing up in the first place :))

We are lacking some serious hands-on mechanical skills which might bite us when the Rickshaw will break down somewhere in the Himalayas... this is where the real adventure starts.

Background (The Adventurists - Cool Earth)

Since 2013 teams of Adventurists have raised over £1.7million for Cool Earth and the communities they support.

Alongside raising money for Cool Earth, The Adventurists are  giving free electric conversions to India’s rickshaws to help reduce emissions and train people on how to repair them. 

The Donations & what is in it for you

We will work out a system where every donation will be rewarded with a certain benefit. For example: 

1. EUR10 - An adventure report at the end of our journey sent to your inbox
2. EUR 20 - A postcard from somewhere along the route to your home address 
3. EUR 30 - A video message from somewhere along the way sent to your inbox
4. EUR 50 - A small souvenir we bring back home from India and have it delivered to your home address 
5. EUR 50+ A special mention on our Rickshaw itself (yes, we can personalize it and will coat the surface with our own design). A digital picture with your name/quote/logo on the Rickshaw delivered to your inbox taken in an extraordinary moment.
