Child Rescue Nepal frees children from slavery. We rescue children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families. Child Rescue Nepal has rescued over 1,000 children but our work is far from over. We want to end child slavery in Nepal and we won’t stop until every child is free.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The raffle has now been draw but the page stays open for 3 months.

The winners were Lorna Williams, Sue Clark, Bridget Featherstone, Helen Riches, Penny Thornberry & Romayne Orr.

WHAT WE RAISED MONEY FOR

All the money goes to my chosen charity the Esther Benjamins Trust, a British Charity working in Nepal.

The Trust is involved in stamping out the miserable business of human trafficking, in particular children forced to work in circuses, essentially living as slaves, forced from the age of 7 or 8 to perform dangerous circus acts 8 days a week, whilst living in squalor and often abused. Some of those rescued and rehabilitated now earn a living working in the Bhairahawa mosaic studio in Kathmandu, making & selling their beautiful mosaic artwork. It is this studio that I try and support.

The Trust's website more fully explains all their operations, but Philip Holmes, the charities founder, who came and addressed our mosaic studio in Newport, spoke movingly of hearing the girls singing as they worked, nipping tiles to make mosaics, a far cry from their wretched existence before rescue.

Once your name appears on this page it will be listed on a 'ticket' on a dedicated page on my website, so you know for sure your entry has been put into the draw. This will take place on the 19th of December.  To ensure impartiality, Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre have agreed to pull the winning ticket, this event will be published on the website. (www.makingmosaics.co.uk).

Five more people up with also receive a single, festive hand made bauble worth £10. The items will be posted (or delivered if you are local) to any UK address, but sorry, cannot guarantee arrival before Xmas day.

Thank you for reading, trusting and donating! Raffle closes midnight Sunday 18th December.
