The Brathay 10in10 sees runners tackle the route of the ASICS Windermere Marathon, every day for 10 consecutive days. It is considered one of the "UK's toughest running events".

Story

I aim to complete one of the toughest running challenges in the UK and break my own record at the same time by running the Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days challenge for a 9th time. To do this I will run the officially measured 26.2 mile marathon course around lake WInderemere, one complete lap each day in order to raise funds for Brathay Trust.

I know I have done this EIGHT times before, but I have also failed one attempt. In some of those years, I have picked up injuries and it has been painful to carry on each day to complete the challenge.

This year has been difficut to train for due to injuries to my right hamstring and hip. I also stil have on going problems with my right knee, probably all the years of running starting to catch up on me. This means my training and prepration hasn't gone whole as I would have liked and I know I will be going into the event slightly under trained. Even with all my experience of the event, I am under no illusion of how difficult the event is. I have failed it once before and know my body and inparticular my right knee is wearing. It won't be easy but I am committed to extending my endurance record of this event.

Since starting running the 10in10 back in 20211, I have raised over £48,000 for Brathay and I hope to add to this total. Brathay Hall is a very special place that touches the hearts of all that come here. Your donations will help many more children and young people to be inspired by this wonderful place and go on to improve their lives and those of others around them.
