RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

The Girlfriend hates it, my colleagues dissaprove but I am growing a Moustache. Inspired by, but independent of Movember, I thought I would raise money for my chosen Charities. I'm 34, and have until now not really been able to do much with my facial hair, yet have secretly been envious of the hirsute chaps who're able to sprout a full set. Now mine's it is finally joining up it's time to let it grow. If I'm doing good work for charity, then neither my Colleagues, nor my Girlfriend can demand I shave it off, can they?

The RNLI provide a network of lifeboat stations without any assistance from the Government, showing that important emergency services can be provided from private charity. Britain is an Island, as dependent as ever on seaborne trade, and the seamen are dependent on the RNLI who deserve our support.
