My Sight Nottinghamshire (Formerly Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind /NRSB) is a local charity which exists to ensure people living with sight loss across Nottinghamshire have access to the same life opportunities as everyone else.

Story

On 24th June 2018  a team of Visually Impaired (VI) cyclists will be taking part in the Great Notts Bike Ride / Cycle Live event.

My Sight Notts have teamed up with Ride Wise and the Nottingham City Council GOGA (Get Out Get Active) fund to help enable a group of VI people to take part in the event.

A separate start time has been arranged and we have 12 tandem pairs taking part in the event. The minimum distance is 25 miles and most will be attempting 50. For some people this project is the first time they have had chance to experience tandem bike riding!

We're hoping that this will raise awareness of VI tandem riding as well as helping to raise much needed funds for My Sight Nottinghamshire in the process! This is an exciting year for the charity who are celebrating their 175th (yes that's 1-7-5!!) anniversary and opening a new purpose built centre for the Visually Impaired in Nottingham City Centre.

My Sight Nottinghamshire, dedicated exclusively to improving the lives
of people living with sight loss in Nottinghamshire and provides support
services, leisure opportunities, information and advice to thousands of
local visually impaired people and their families.

They believe that no one should have to face sight loss alone and unsupported and are determined to work towards a world in which blind and partially sighted people of all ages have access to the same opportunities as everyone else.
