We are the Iron Lad-N-Dad team taking on Race the Sun Lake District Off-Road in June 2026, raising vital funds for Action Medical Research. Training is in full swing, and our team dynamic is… well, as the name suggests, exactly what you’d expect. Lloyd the “Iron Lad” is a PT at AF Fitness, a HYROX leader at 360 Fit, did I mention an accomplished Iron Man and annoyingly good at everything involving sweat, speed, or endurance. Then there’s me, Malky the “Dad” a “Coach” to Lloyd and whose endurance experience mainly involves back-to-back meetings and chasing deadlines, not so much mountain bikes and kayaks. But together we’re grinding through early-morning rides, big climbs, and paddle practice, getting ready for that sunrise start where we’ll bike, hike, and paddle our way around a tough Lake District course in a race against daylight. We have a relatively small target to reach given the effort we have to put in so if you can please dig deep and support us for this great cause
