10,000 steps-a-day for 26 days · 26 April 2020

Leading the way to a better quality of life for everyone severely affected by mental illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  As you may know, the London Marathon was cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Last year it helped raise £66.4m for charities - vital funds to  enable them to help and support the less fortunate and most vulnerable people in our world.

The 2.6 Challenge is a national initiative to try to encourage people to substitute the London Marathon fundraising efforts with a multitude of individual fundraising activities with the numbers 2.6 or 26 in someway evident.  With all the restrictions of social distancing etc. in mind I came up with this:

Starting on Sunday 26th April I have walked more than 15,000 steps each day, from our home for 26 continuous days.  A total of more than 400,000 steps.

I'm raising money for Rethink Mental Illness. The "Lockdown" poses many problems for all of us, but if you were already suffering with a mental illness the stresses, anxieties and problems escalate enormously.  They need our help more than ever!

Thank you so much for your generosity!
