London Landmarks Half Marathon 2018 · 25 March 2018 ·
To some he was Charlie to others he was Manbiggs to me he was just Grandad... this man changed so many lives whilst he was here with us and it's literally the smallest sentiment I can think of running this race for him.
He struggled through many trials and tribulations and I can say he faced them with courage even joked with us in his final hours.
It's a spirit and character I hope to have inherited and it will be a long time before anyone will forget him and what he did whilst he was here among us.
I chose British heart foundation because he was the heart of a beautiful family
One thing I know is we all need to look after our hearts and health as much as possible and if we can research more into protecting our selves through much needed science in this area we will all be a lot better off.
He certainly used his to all it's beautiful potential! Till his very last day !
I Set off with a view to just covering the distance, but even I admit i surpassed my own expectations - Losing 8 Stone in one year and ensuring I go through the ribbon on race day with much more pride than originally imagined.
Stay tuned for more updates.
