Our vision is a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Story

On Sunday 10th July 2011 we will be pulling on the lycra and dusting off our toe clips for the Manchester to Blackpool Charity Cycle Ride. The ride is about 60 miles in distance and as previous years there are over 10,000 cyclists expected to take part.

We will be donating any sponsorship money that we raise to The Meningitis Trust. http://www.meningitis-trust.org/

Many of you will be aware of the story of Charlie Mann who sadly lost his life to meningitis aged just 3 months back in October 2010. Charlie's Dad Chris has been a friend and a colleague from Sumners for many years and Charlie's story has touched us all.

Charlie's mum Katy has been writing a blog since October which you can read here http://charliecheekychops.blogspot.com/

The blog has had major media coverage after being featured in The Mail On Sunday and has also been re-tweeted by many celebrities on Twitter. Katy has also done many newspaper and radio interviews to highlight the dangers of meningitis and how to spot the symptoms.

Although the money we raise won't help Chris and Katy with what they have lost we hope it will go a long way to ensure that other parents don't go through the same ordeal.

Thanks for reading, any donation that you can give will be a great help.

UPDATE - Thanks to your fantastic generostity we have already reached our target of £1000. While this is a great amount to give to the charity we are certain that we can do more. There is still plenty of time to donate before the event so if you get a chance please donate. It doesn't have to be a lot, every little bit counts and goes to a great cause.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, we really appreciate it.
