Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page - so why have we created this page?
Well - from May 2015 to May 2016 Ian and I (with a lot of help from our friends) are aiming to raise £3,850 in aid of the NSPCC. We hope to do this by running a number of fund raising events and between us completing 4 challenges.
The fund raising events will include sports and social events - keep an eye on the update section for up coming events.
The 4 challenges being completed are - three Challenge Series walks and a 420km cycle. The first of these challenges are walks from London to Brighton (23rd May 15) and the second along the Grand Union Canal (27th June 15). These are both 100km (about 25 to 30 hours of walking each) only stopping to take on food and water. The third challenge is the Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle Challenge. We will be cycling 420kms Ho Chi Min to Angkor Wat. The final challenge is back where I started - walking 100km from London to Brighton (28th May 2016).
Why are we doing this? Good question. Some may say, midlife crisis and others, empty nest syndrome. Either may be true.
However, the biggest and most rewarding challenge is diminishing, which has been the 'children', they are now adults and doing very well. We now spend our spare time playing sport and socialising with friends.
Through my work we know there are many children that don't get all the love and support they need and whose prospects are poor. So now we have time we want to make a difference and we want to regret the things we've done and not the things we haven't!
So please help us to change children's lives for the better by making a donation to our year of challenge.
