Event: London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021, on 1 August 2021
A fantastic team of runners have come together to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 29 March in aid of Pseudomyxoma Survivor. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 this event was cancelled.

Story

I was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei in 2014. It was only ever discovered during tests for infertility. As it’s a very rare type of cancer, Addenbrookes referred my case on to the team at a specialist hospital in Basingstoke. I had surgery and a hot chemo wash in the September. I was told it was a “one in a million” type of cancer, so I felt very scared and alone. Stupidly I googled it and terrified myself with the surgery, life expectancy etc etc. But that google search also put me in touch with the charity, and I quickly realised I wasn’t alone, and that there was hope! Now it’s my turn to give something back to them. And I’d love your help. I’m so proud to be running for the charity, and will be wearing my Pseudomyxoma Survivor top with pride!

Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a non-profit organization, run by patients and caregivers. We have a thriving support community supporting anyone whose life has been touched by pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) as well as appendix cancer and other peritoneal surface malignancies. We’re completely dependent on voluntary donations. Our patron is Sean Hepburn Ferrer. Sean’s mother, Audrey Hepburn, passed away shortly after being diagnosed with PMP.
