Story
I’m doing the memory walk in memory of my nan who I lost to dementia in 2022 which was short and unexpected, one day she was full of life chatting the next day she was a completely different person confused and not able to walk or sit up and given months to live she lived 4 months after being diagnosed and died miles from home alone due to nhs and social service’s failures no family needs to go through that Alzheimer’s and dementia care needs to change so please help support Alzheimer’s society and donate and help towards that change
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 1 million people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don't need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
