Story

To remember a greatly missed colleague and friend, Team Mannok are organising four fundraising events to raise money for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, a charity which helped bring Aran home from Spain, when he sadly passed away while on holiday.

Four fundraising events:

  • Dress casual Wednesday 6th and 13th December
  • Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday 20th December
  • The Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk on Saturday 24th February

Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk

The Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk will take place in February
2024, the month which would have been Aran’s fifth year with the company.

The walk will commence at 11am on Saturday 24th February from Cuilcagh Boardwalk carpark. After everyone has completed the walk, refreshments will then be served in the Mannok Innovation Academy at 3pm. We will be joined by Aran’s wife, Paula, and his close family members, as well as Colin Bell from the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. We will present a cheque to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, during the refreshments at the Innovation Academy, with the total amount of money raised from the four events.

Mannok Precast Remembering Aran

Aran was one of those special characters who made work fun, from the day he joined Mannok there was never a dull moment.  We enjoyed hearing of his travels over the years with his lovely family, Paula, Conrad and Joel, as well as the sometimes hilarious adventures of him and his bike (one of many might we add) whether it be carrying it through 2ft floods or pushing a fellow cyclist some 10 miles back to Omagh.

Precast being a smaller division of Mannok, we function very much like a family and Aran settled in very quickly. We did not only lose a colleague on 3rd May 2023, but also a very close friend.

Aran enjoyed work, he was passionate about it and took great pride in ensuring everything ran as smoothly as it could in the world of precast!  He was a pivotal cog within our team. Although he only joined us four years prior to his passing, his presence was immensely felt by all.

Aran always had a listening ear for his colleagues, whether it was about work or personal life. He was always up for team bonding evenings, ready to show his dance moves (he loved music very much and always had his next concert booked). We have some very fond memories from our time with Aran which we will cherish for years to come.

We hope he knew just how much he was loved and thought of by all.

Our condolences are forever with his family. We hope, in some way, the fundraisers organised can illustrate the impact he had on us during his time at Mannok and how highly he was regarded. We are also very motivated to support a valuable charity, which we all hope we never need, but we are incredibly grateful to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust for helping bring our friend home to rest.

Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the bodies of loved ones, who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances, back to Ireland.

KBRT was founded out of a family tragedy when, in June 2013, Kevin Bell died suddenly in New York. Following an outpouring of support from Kevin’s friends, family and colleagues, a significant amount of funds were raised to repatriate his remains back to Ireland. As a permanent legacy to Kevin, the Bell family decided to use the funds to establish a charity to he
