Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be doing a skydive from 10,000 feet on 14th July 2018 despite my fear of heights!!
All the proceeds will be going to the Sight for Life Trust (I have paid for the skydive myself), a vital charity that has been set up by one of my family members. Here in the UK, let's be honest we take so much for granted. People often mention things such as a house, job, money etc, but what about our health. To get more specific what about our eyesight? Just take one second and have a proper think and consider what it would be like to lose your eyesight. How would your life change? What would you miss? How would you feel? Now take that and put yourself in a poor family in a country where you don't have the facilities and opportunites for blind people like here. Not a very nice feeling is it?
Sight for Life helps so so many people in that exact position. They have built a state of the art hospital to offer FREE crucial treatment to the poor of Pakistan. I have been to the hospital myself and it is amazing! If you had only been to a country like that you would know that something here which we can go to Boots for and get some eye drops and be fine, those poor people can't get. They end up losing their eyesight over something so little. Not just adults but poor innocent kids. It is literally heartwrenching to think about it. These children, who often the sole hope to grow up and work to help the family survive, then end up on the streets begging while their families starve. Sight for Life works to change this completely, and has done so much already, but more needs to be done!
The hospital needs resources such as doctors and equipment, as well as provisions for the poor such as food and accommodation while being treated. They are now going to build a school for the blind so they don't end up begging and starving, which I think will be the first school of it's kind in the country. How amazing would that be?! You would literally change their lives with just a small donation!! Knowing that you contributed to that is a great feeling :).
Please donate whatever you can.
