Story

We’re supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and signing up to the Big Pink campaign to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. And we're also donating money to the Day Unit of Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

We’ve got lots of experienced and keen cyclists at Manorview Hotels, and two of them, Ed Elliot and Tommy Bryceland, have set a challenge.

They’ve been inspired to support our colleague Lorraine McLaren and they’ve devised a cycle route of approximately 60 miles which travels between four of our hotels, taking in the finest Renfrewshire, south of Glasgow, and Lanarkshire countryside.

The route starts from The Bowfield Hotel in Howwood, travels over to the Busby Hotel in Clarkston, thereafter stops at The Commercial Hotel in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, a further pit stop will be made in the market town of Lanark, before the final destination of Cornhill Castle in Biggar, South Lanarkshire. Then there’s the return leg, where they do it all again, in reverse.

Ed and Tommy are well travelled cyclists and they have been inspired to put a team together to support our colleague, Training & Recruitment Manager, Lorraine McLaren. The Manorview team will be wearing their best pink Lycra and travelling the country on Thursday 26th October 2017, if you see them in action, give them a wave and a cheer!

They are aiming to raise as much money as they can for Breast Cancer Care, and the Day Unit of Hairmyres Hospital who provide amazing support and therapy treatment to patients. Any donations would be gratefully received.
