Thanks for taking the time to have a look at Maracom's fund-raising page!

On the 20^th and 21^st of May 2010, our crack team of adventurers will be taking up the famous 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

 

UPDATE:  It is with great pride that we can announce the team completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in 23hrs on the button!  Congratulations guys!  Please keep the donations coming in!

 

Who We Are

We all work for Maracom Limited, a firm of commercial heating engineers in London, and our team comprises:

Chris Wood

Pat Lynch (Driver)

Ted Birks (Driver)

We decided to take on the 3 Peaks Challenge when we discovered that some members of staff had direct experience of dealing with cancer, either personally or within their immediate family.  It therefore made perfect sense to support the Cancer Research UK charity by climbing mountains!

 

The Challenge

In just 24 hours, our intrepid engineers aim to climb the 3 highest peaks in the UK, namely:

Ben Nevis, Scottish Highlands, Scotland (4409 feet)

Scafell Pike, Lake District, England (3209 feet)

Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia National Park, Wales (3560 feet)

 

Special Thanks

Maracom would like to take this opportunity to thank Volkswagen UK - Beadles of Dartford for generously contributing a 12-seater Transporter Shuttle which will be driven by Pat Lynch and Ted Birks to carry the team from mountain to mountain!

We would also like to offer our gratitude to the Best Western Waterloo Hotel in Betws-y-Coed, who provided us with a night's free accomodation upon discovering the reason for our stay!

 

The Charity

Cancer Research UK are the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.  In the last 30 years survival rates for cancer have doubled, and it has been the research carried out by Cancer Research UK that has been at the heart of that progress.  The vital work carried out by Cancer Research UK is entirely publicly funded, and so your donation is greatly appreciated.

 

As you can see from the pictures so far, the Maracom Four have committed to a gruelling training regime already, so please give generously!
