Story
Lots of good things come in twos. Paco, my husband, currently has two future guide dogs from Light into Europe in training that will go on to help two blind people in Romania in their everyday lives. And I am planning to add another two marathons to the two I already completed (before having two children…).
In November, I will first attempt to run the Istanbul marathon followed by Athens a week later (legs permitting!), accompanied by my friends Carol, Renate and Manuela. Okay, that’s four of us, with two of us fundraising for the same important cause: Carol and I are running for the charity Light into Europe.
Light into Europe works with blind and deaf people in Romania giving them the training and support to live independent, fulfilled lives. They are training the first guide dogs in Romania which provides blind people with new mobility, freedom and independence, and gives them access to new possibilities of work and study. In the programme, visually impaired people receive the dogs free of charge so all the money raised goes straight to helping the training and welfare of these incredible guide dogs. If you want to find out more about Light into Europe, please visit their website: www.lightintoeurope.ro.
As you can imagine, every penny can make a difference, so please dig deep to support us on this personal challenge and Light into Europe on their professional one. Thank you!
