Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. If you prefer to give via a not-for-profit site, or just have something against Just Giving, you can also help support me and The Stroke Association via http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/marathonandon
On Sunday April 22nd I'll join 40,000ish other runners in London to slog the 42.195 km (26 miles and 385 yards) course, passing lots of landmarks along the way. It'll be on TV. I'll wave if I see you :)
I'm running for The Stroke Association as before his death in 2005 my father had a series of strokes, making it a cause close to my heart.
Training for what will be my second Marathon, following Edinburgh in 2011 (5h10m due to lack of prep time. See http://www.justgiving.com/shortnotice) and first London Marathon has gone well. On March 11th I ran a half marathon around Silverstone race circuit in 1:58:02; 9 minute miles, which I was very pleased with. This followed a World Record Breaking (TBC!) climb of Tower 42 for Shelter. Read all about it at http://www.justgiving.com/verticalmile
It would mean a great deal to me if you could help me by donating anything you can spare to The Stroke Association. On my third attempt I got into the race on a ballot place so I've no minimum to raise them, but they have sent me a nice t-shirt so I'd like to get them at least £100 :)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now - it really does help motivate me to know my sweat and your cash is helping a worthy cause which does great work. Remember the 'Act F.A.S.T' adverts on TV? That was The Stroke Association.
