Story

On Sunday 2nd October I will be taking on my first ever Marathon and running the 26.2 miles of the Virtual London Marathon.  Although the reality of tackling this, without the cheering crowds of an organised event, is somewhat daunting, I know the thought of raising funds for such an amazing young man will spur me on.

Throughout Billy’s life he has been on several different drugs, had botox in his legs twice, physio twice a week since he was 15 months old, and had full support at school and nursery to help him with his mobility.  When fundraising started , the goal was to raise enough funds for Billy to have an operation to reduce the spasticity in his legs.  Billy's family finally got the news this year that his operation would go ahead, however they still need to raise as much money as they can for his rehabilitation.  This is a slow process and Billy will need 3-4 sessions of physio a week as well as strength training, equating to around £12,000 a year.

Billy is a school friend of my daughter (Jessica).
Like all young boys he wants to be like his friends he wants to run, jump, skip, and ride a bike.

As you may know, I really enjoy running and so very rarely ask for donations for the running events I take part in.  However, this is a massive challenge for me, and an amazing cause.  So, if you are able to make a donation then every bit makes a difference.
