I’m  planning to run a marathon on the 25th of March in aid of Erskine Veterans Care Homes.

The devastation of the First World War highlighted that there were insufficient hospital facilities to care for those who were wounded in battle.

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Scotland, the first Erskine Hospital was opened in October 1916.

Now in 2021, over 105 years after its inception, and having cared for over 85,000 veterans, Erskine is now Scotland’s foremost provider of care for veterans.

After contacting the staff at Erskine, they were fully supportive of this fundraising, especially given the current climate.

Having never ran a marathon before, this will be both a challenge and achievement when completed.
