Story
This October I'm running the Beachy Head marathon in my hometown. 26 miles through the South Downs National Park, past the breathtaking sight of the UK's highest chalk sea cliff, over the rolling hills of Seven Sisters and through many familiar spots of which I have fond memories.
With an elevation gain of over 4300ft (Snowdon is 3560ft, Ben Nevis is 4411ft), this is one of the UK's most challenging off road marathons but 1 in 4 of us a face an even bigger challenge every day. Living with mental health problems can be life changing but with the right support extraordinary things can happen!
I will be running for Heads On. Their work includes patient and family support, pioneering research and the transformation of local mental health hospitals into more comfortable and welcoming environments.
Every penny will help make things better for people by funding projects that help them to feel supported, to stay active and to be more involved in their communities.
Thank you for your support. Time to run!
