Story
Sue Faulder: a loving wife, mum and best friend.
We lost Sue, my mum, in December 2020. Please remember her by supporting my marathon attempt to raise funds for The Christie Hospital. This is my sixth marathon in support of The Christie Hospital and in honour of my mum.
Since my mum joined a clinical trial of immunotherapy drugs at The Christie hospital, we have raised £4780 by running marathons for The Christie. The trial she took part in was successful and these drugs are now licensed by the NHS. My mum got to continue using this treatment at Nottingham City Hospital in her fight against brain tumours. We are so thankful for the work of The Christie and how they continue to innovate, change and cure cancer each year.
The Christie is a wonderful place and is like no other hospital, it’s a more like community and is designed to support families as well as treat cancer. The Christie really is a shining star of our NHS and a place we should all be proud of. They cared so well for my mum, and everyone she met there, in all aspects of their health and well-being.
Thank you to all of my friends and family, new and old, who continue to support me as I work through this loss and effort to better treat others. Your donations will help keep The Christie an incredible place, moving forwards and changing the landscape of cancer care.
