Story
Dear friends
On the 5th September I will be taking part in the Carmarthen Round Table cycle challenge, the RT500.
We aim to cycle 500 miles (between us) around the Carmarthen outdoor velodrome. I personally am aiming to complete 60 miles during the day- hopefully more.
Owen- my son (aged 5) aims to complete 10 laps.
During COVID I have seen first hand all the amazing work done by CRT. Which include, but not limited to:
- Food and treat donation to hospital wards. Thousands of pounds worth.
- Cash donations to Carmarthen food bank.
- Protective Visor donations (manufactured in Carmarthen and distributed for free)
- Hand sanitizer donations (manufactured in carmarthen and distributed for free)
- Hand sanitizer donated to care homes and emergency services.
- Toiletries donations to Cwm Seren.
- Litter picks (~50 bags have been collected in total from all over town)
The CRT have also been continuing with donations to individuals most at need in and around Carmarthen. Some of these are publicised, others are not. Along with our usual donations to the theatre groups and sports teams.
This has meant our funds have depleted quickly since March last year. Social distancing rules has meant that our main fundraising events at Carmarthen Round Table have been cancelled - severely limited our income
As our first big fundraiser since the end of social distancing, we will be conducting the RT500 cycle and are seeking sponsorship.
If you can come and support us during the day we would love to see you. We will be cycling around the velodrome all day, starting at 8am. If you would like to sponsor me individually, or us as a collective, that would we amazing. All donations go into our charity account and are distributed to those most in need in and around Carmarthen.
Marc
