Story

Firstly, welcome to my JustGiving Page! Thank you for clicking and getting this far, and for all of your continued support in the build up to my challenge. But before you become part of this fundraising effort, you might want to know a few more details?!

The expedition:

On the 20th April 2018 I will be heading over to Tibet to join an international team of climbers aiming to climb the highest mountain in the world; Mount Everest.

Our team are making an attempt on the lesser climbed North Side of Everest, a darker, colder and more logistically challenging route. All going well, we aim to reach the summit, at 8848m, around the end of May.

Of course this route still takes us up into the notorious Death Zone, an inhospitable part of the planet where there's simply not enough oxygen for humans to survive. Added to temperatures as low as -40 degrees, this is a challenge of both physical and mental limits like no other.

My fundraising:

I'm proud to be working in partnership with GSK and Save the Children, who have a ground-breaking mission to help save the lives of one million children by tackling preventable under five child mortality.

My aim? Well, in keeping with an Everest theme, I'm aiming to raise £8848 (that's £1 for every meter on the mountain), to help support the amazing work being carried out by the Children's Emergency Fund, which enables Save the Children to start saving lives immediately when disaster strikes, just like in Nepal after the earthquake in 2015.

And to help make even more of a difference, all money raised from my fundraising page will be matched by GSK.

Thank you all for donations and your support, and for being part of this challenge.
