Story
Forever Stars was setup following the stillbirth of Emily Daniels on December 19th 2013. Although Emily was stillborn, Michelle and Richard had to go back on to the labour ward where the surrounded by the sounds of child birth, families celebrating and of course the sound of healthy babies.Michelle and Richard decided that they would fundraise in the name of their daughter to facilitate the building and equipping of bereavement suites and other support material and facilities of future bereaved parents in and around the East Midlands.
I first became aware of Forever Stars when I met Richard by chance at a joint activity we were undertaking, and was immediately struck by their story and the amazing cause that had come from such heart ache.
Over the last few years I've followed the charities progress and am proud to be able to call Richard a friend, and like many of us in 2020, have decided that 2021 has to be a more meaningful year.
Having spent some of lockdown walking on a daily basis, and spurred on by a very close friend and my family, I've decided to continue walking lots next year but with the main aim of raising money for this wonderful cause.
Therefore, starting on New Years day 2021, I'm going to track every step I do with the target to complete 4 million steps by 31st December 2021. The first walk will start at the Serenity garden in Highfields, which will be a regular focus of my updates throughout the year and is the next big Forever Stars project, hence 4 million steps to Serenity.
I will be providing regular updates throughout the year, and we will be adding opportunities for you to get involved, which we won't be able to do until social distance guidelines allow, but in the meantime I'm simply asking for you to donate whatever you can afford to get the ball rolling and show your support in the virtual world.
