Story

On the 23rd March I am hosting my 60th birthday party. Rather than receive presents I am asking for a donation to The Malcolm Whales Foundation.

The Malcolm Whales Foundation is a charity that helps relieve sickness and the promotes the preservation of good health in children and adults suffering from any form of cancer.

The charity has been created in the memory of Malcolm Whales. He was the father of Damien, one of my colleagues at KSCS. The charity now hosts a number of events each year. The two major events being the 40 miles Dorset Walk in July and the 12 hours of sport in December. Both of these events are largely student focused and create opportunities for young people to challenge themselves physically and mentally and to get involved in charity work.

The funds that are raised are used to impact on people affected by cancer, with keen focus on young people. Donations include annual partnerships with other charities who work with young people affected by cancer, making improvements to infrastructure at local cancer wards and individual more personal donations to families in need.
