Hello everybody and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Please read on for a bit of background and latest news about my mammoth walk and also for updates from my training sessions.

 

The reason that I have created this page is that on the 7th October 2010, a team of 7 and I will be doing a non- stop 100 mile walk for a local charity (The Harbour Cancer Centre in Gosport).

We will begin the walk at 0600 at HMS Victory and finish at the same location in Portsmouth hopefully 28-30 hours later. We intend on walking 100 miles around the County of Hampshire. It will be as a team and not a relay.We intend on visiting Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham, Southampton, Winchester, Chichester and loads of other villages and towns on the route.

The person that inspired the group to attempt the walk is Petty Officer Sharon-Anne Connell -Malcolm, who I work with. She is still currently serving in the Royal Navy. She has, with immense bravery, been battling against breast cancer for the last five years, only to be now diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer which is unfortunately incurable. The Harbour Cancer Centre in Gosport is her chosen charity.

 

Our aim is to collect as much sponsorship money to help this fantastic Charity to continue to do the wonderful work that they do.  We also want to raise the profile of the Charity to try and give them the recognition that they deserve. The Centre is a walk in centre that provides much needed help, guidance and counselling for people effected by Cancer.
