Story
My Mum has Alzheimer’s, she is 84 and will soon not know who I am. Those moments are intermittent right now but I dread them, it’s heartbreaking and cruel.
Understanding how to interact with Mum has been the biggest and steepest learning curve. She is an amazing lady, funny, sarcastic, loving and caring. She like any other regular mum, the difference being, she doesn’t know what has just happened, who people are and what amazing times she has had in her life.
Her short term memory is gone, her mid term memory has followed and now her long term memory is challenged, of course we need to sort this Alzheimer’s s*** out!
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community and in their own homes without fear or prejudice.
PLEASE HELP ME GET ROUND THAT HALF MARATHON COURSE!!!!!! Hands deep in pockets and donations all the way!!
