Story

Hi -Big thank you for visiting my fund raising page.

We have done it !! My 71 year old Uncle (grandfather of the children affected by Myotonic Dystrophy) and I have completed the 300 mile ride from London to Paris. A memoreable and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The reason for doing the ride  has been driven by the fact that two younger members of our family have a condition known as Myotnoic Dystrophy, for which I am raising money for research into this disease.  I am sure you will understand a cause very important to me.

Myotonic Dystrophy is a neuromuscular disease affecting one in every 8,000. It affects multiple organs, including muscle, heart, eyes, endocrine system, GI tract, brain, bone and skin. Whilst some may only have cataracts,  the great majority suffer devastating progressive muscle weakness which frequently leads to total disability.

To date there is no cure, but great strides are being made,  and there is every reason to hope that a therapy or cure will be found one day in the not too distant future.

A massive thank you to those that have sponsored me .As you can see the total raised has exceeded the initial target and funds are still coming in-amazing. Thank you .Your help really makes a difference.

This is the most effective way to sponsor me: Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group will receive your money faster and , if you are a UK taxpayer,  an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no extra cost to you.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to read this,  and in anticipation thank you for your support.

Donations can be made on line or cheques made payable to MDSG Research Acc:00016215 and sent to me at Carlton House Farm Carlton Miniott Thirsk YO7 4NJ.

So please continue to sponsor me now!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
