Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We have started this JustGiving page to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support in Barry's name as the MacMillan nurses at Queen's Hospital in Romford helped Barry and I in what turned out to be his last few weeks.

On the day that we lost Barry, Lucy, one of the MacMillan nurses  came to the Cornflower ward to see us both after being told he had been admitted earlier in the week.

She was very supportive and explained that since Barry's cancer had spread, if he could beat the sepsis infection that he had, he might be able to come home with the care of the MacMillan nurses. I knew that Barry would prefer to be at home with me if that were an option.

Sadly that wasn't to be, but the care and compassion that the MacMillan nurses showed us was amazing & I will be forever grateful. Lucy rang me on behalf of the team a couple of days after Barry passed away to pass on her condolences!

MacMillan nurses are very special people and that is why we have chosen this charity.

Thank you.
